The comments I get being a vegetarian

Whenever I meet new people, I try to avoid telling them I'm a vegetarian. Or when we go out to restaurants, I feel it's unnecessary for my parents to tell the waitress I'm a "picky vegetarian." This is simply because everybody seems to ask one of the cliched questions/comments I've listed below! Then, they always want to argue about how I answered. Sometimes I would just rather not argue about the way I've been living my life for the last five years.

So, as politely as I can manage, I'm going to try to answer them here:

What do you EAT?
Meatless yet edible goods. That's what I eat. You couldn't have figured that out?

Why'd you go vegetarian?
I always seem to stumble at this one, because the reason I went vegetarian is no longer the reason I am vegetarian. See, I can't quite remember the day I decided I wanted to stop eating cute fuzzy animals, but I did. And I was always disgusted by cow and pig already anyway. NOW, however, I know just how cruel and inhumane
some (I'm not saying all.) slaughter houses are. I just don't want to be a part of that.

Now, it's not the question itself that annoys me, it's that every single person who has every asked it always follows my answer up with an argument. "So how's one person going to make a difference?" "But then don't plants feel to?" "How do you know if you've never been to a slaughter house?"

I would never let me kids go vegetarian.
Well, that's great. You're a controlling mother that doesn't feel that your children should have their own rights/morals, and you basically just called my mom a bad mother. Run along now.

Are you CRAZY?
That's very nice of you to ask. No, I'm not crazy.

However, I do get some nice, totally acceptable questions/comments every once in a while:

When did you go vegetarian?
What a fairly normal and non-insulting question! Thank you for asking it! I went vegetarian somewhere during 3rd grade, when I was 9 years old.

Is your whole family vegetarian?
No, only me.

Isn't it unhealthy to be vegetarian?
(Don't get this confused with them simply TELLING me that it's unhealthy to be a vegetarian.)
Actually, no. A lot of the vitamins and proteins found in meat can be easily substituted with vitamin supplements, or by simply eating other foods. In fact, most vegetarians live a much healthier lifestyle, and you're not very likely to find an overweight one, seeing how we don't eat fat.

Do you eat cheese and stuff?
Yes, I do. If I were vegan then I would not eat anything that comes from animals, or use any animal products whatsoever. For now, I'm just vegetarian.

Do you eat fish/chicken?
No.

Cincinnati!

Another trip, and away!

Yes, I am very happy to be going to Cincinnati for the weekend to see, not only Stacy, but unborn Daphne as well. I also get Skyline and Graters while I am there. Lucky me! ^.^

In case you hadn't figured it out already, I'm visiting Stacy for her baby shower. Daphne is due in September. (A few weeks early, and she'll be in the run for sharing my birthday!) I got her a ducky themed gift! And we're also bringing our favorite childhood book. I chose Goodnight Moon. :)

Thought I should mention that. I haven't been out of state in a while, (we're also brushing Kentucky for a bit) so I'm pretty excited! See you all on Sunday! ^.^

I am the Half-Blood Prince!

Maggie, Marty and I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter last night. Well, this morning, actually. I thought I'd hate it, but it was AWESOME. I loved it, and other than the fact that nobody ever said "Snape killed Dumbledore" in the movie, which in my opinion is the most famous Harry Potter quote ever, I thought they did an exceptional job with this one. They get an 8.5 out of me, which is pretty good if you know how I rate movies.

When they turned the projector on, the first thing to pop up was a "Closer Look" Twilight thing. I knew I was home when my fellow fans booed with me. :)

I'm going to go see it again. Maybe not today, because it's still going to be packed. I dunno who I'm going with, but I'm seeing it again. No exceptions.

Well, I'm off to finish deciding what merchandise to get for my birthday/Christmas. I think I'd be in Ravenclaw, don't you?

Reeses Stop Animation

video
I am SO SICK of my videos not uploading to any websites. Blogspot is the only one that doesn't hate me. You have NO IDEA how frustrating it is to work on a video for two hours, only to be told that "An error has occurred, but we're not gonna freaking tell you what it is."

So, now that I have yelled at everybody because of my problems, I'm sure you're dying to watch the video. Or hopefully you already have. I made a stop animation with reeses cups before, but it was quite suckish. This one is still suckish, but it's honestly the best one I think I've ever done. I was expecting it to be longer, and I wish it was, but "move quarter inch, picture, move quarter inch, picture, move quarter inch, wait did I already move that one? oh well, picture" gets old after a while.

Thank you, blogspot, for being the only website kind enough to host my videos.

Guess Where I Am!

I just so happen to be in a magical place. Actually, it's not really that magical. If it were magical then Hazel's diapers would just automatically change themselves. But Hazel's here! I should probably rephrase that because it implies that Hazel came over my house, when really I came over her house. Yups.

So, I'm at Maggie & Gabe's (and Hazel's) house! [: I helped garden yesterday but I had a cold (still do) and my throat hurt really bad so I didn't do much work. Today we got Dewey's. YUMMY. But now I really want red cream soda.

Hazel's seeeepin' on Maggie right now. She is extremely AWESOME, surprisingly playful, and the absolute cutest baby EVER. She can cry pretty loud though. Umm, so I'm going to depart on that note. Byebye.

Last Day Of School!

Happy last day of school! I know, the school year grew up so fast. ]: Umm, yups. Nothing special. We're just sitting and doing nothing in all of our classes. Except Millett. We have a final exam in her class, last period. BOO.

I went to Kate's softball game yesterday with Alexx, and we got ICE CREAM! (The ice cream man came and gave us edible Spongebobs.) Oh, they won by the way. Actually, they would have lost if Kate hadn't hit a home run and tied the game. :P

I am SO COLD. I'm sitting next to Kate in computers because we have a free day (last day of school and all) so I have to sit RIGHT in front of the air conditioner. I'm always cold in this class anyway, but now it's like, cold, AND windy.
